REFINED SOLITUDE IN THE HIMALAYAS

Rooms

Handcrafted sanctuaries carved from local wood and stone, designed to breathe in rhythm with the mountain air.

THE PINNACLE OF HERITAGE

Royal Rooms

The Dhauladhar fills your window at 180 degrees. High sloping ceilings pull the room open, walnut wood floors catch the morning light, and stone detailing above the windows gives the walls a quiet richness. This is the room people come back for. Corner position on the first floor means the mountains are with you from every angle — when you wake up, when you sit down, when you do nothing at all.

HIGHER UP. MORE TO YOURSELF

Mountain Range Rooms

Higher up, with the mountains sitting just outside your balcony and the apple orchard stretching out below. The sloping ceilings in two of these rooms give them the feel of a private cottage — cozy without being small. Walnut furniture, wood floors, wide views. Named after three of Himachal's greatest mountain ranges because that's exactly what greets you every morning.

THE ONE EVERYONE KEEPS COMING BACK TO

Elite Rooms

Corner rooms on raised ground, with a large balcony and the mountains framed right in front of you. The sunlight moves through these rooms slowly — soft in the morning, warm by afternoon. Indian rosewood furniture, generous space at 440 sq ft, and enough quiet to make you forget there's anywhere else to be. ShivAdya's most popular rooms. Not hard to see why.

ROOM TO ACTUALLY BREATHE

Lake Rooms

The largest rooms on the property at 525 sq ft, named after two of Himachal's most beautiful lakes. A small kitchenette, a large balcony, mountain views, and enough space to actually spread out and settle in. One room sits on the ground floor with a flat ceiling, the other on the first floor with a high sloping ceiling — same generosity of space, different character. For when you're not just passing through.

TWO SIDES OF THE VALLEY

Mountain Pass Rooms

Two rooms named after two legendary passes — one with the mountains straight ahead, one with the orchard on one side and the mountains on the other. Both open out to a large balcony. At 400-420 sq ft with Indian rosewood furniture and the same handcrafted wood floors throughout, these rooms give you space, views, and the unhurried feeling that the best Himalayan stays always do.

SMALL ROOM ENORMOUS VIEWS

THE ONE THAT FEELS LIKE HOME

Village Rooms

Ground floor rooms that open directly into the gardens and apple orchards. Wood walls, wood floors, local furniture — all of it treated with care to show the grain and colour in its most natural state. Named after two villages nearby, these rooms feel exactly like that — like staying in a home that belongs here. Unhurried, warm, and quietly lovely in a way that's hard to explain until you're in one.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • Every room at ShivAdya comes with daily housekeeping, complimentary Wi-Fi, a stocked minibar, tea and coffee maker with tea sourced from Wah Tea Estate in Palampur, hair dryer, and access to all common areas including the library lounge, garden, and orchard. Jaquar-fitted luxury bathrooms with all modern fittings are standard across every room category.

  • Yes. All rooms have all-weather air conditioning. The mud walls and local stone construction also naturally insulate — warm in winter, cool in summer — so you'll rarely feel the need to reach for the thermostat.

  • We don't. ShivAdya is a place built around silence, stillness, and finding something quieter in yourself. Alcohol doesn't fit that. What we do serve — fresh local food, Himalayan tea, and complete quiet — tends to do more for most guests anyway.

  • Loud music is not permitted anywhere on the property. This isn't a rule we enforce reluctantly — it's the whole point. The sounds here are the orchard, the wind, the birds, and the mountains. We'd like to keep it that way.

  • The Lake rooms come with a small kitchenette for basic heating and preparation. All other rooms are dining-out, with our restaurant Taala, the garden restaurant, and the poolside Gupshup lounge all available throughout the day. Eat in the comfort of your rooms with In-Room Dining.

  • Check-in is at 2:00 PM and check-out is at 11:00 AM. Early check-in and late check-out can be requested subject to availability — reach out to us directly and we'll do our best.

  • Yes. Several room categories comfortably accommodate a family with two children, with the option of an extra bed. The orchard, gardens, and open spaces make it a genuinely good place for children to slow down alongside their parents.

  • Yes, complimentary parking is available on the property. The parking area was built using construction debris from the property itself — part of our commitment to zero waste. We don’t provide any lodgings for the drivers.

  • Swimming pool, spa, steam room, sauna, jacuzzi, indoor games room with air hockey, foosball, carrom, table tennis and chess, library lounge, poolside Gupshup lounge, garden bonfire, and two dining spaces — Taala restaurant and the garden restaurant. Candlelit dinners in the orchard can also be arranged on request.

  • Wi-Fi is available across all rooms and common areas. Mobile connectivity depends on your network provider — most major Indian networks have coverage in Karjan Village, though signal strength varies. Consider it an invitation to be a little less reachable.

  • We love that you want to bring them. But ShivAdya is a sanctuary — for the wildlife, the orchard, and the guests who come here for complete quiet. Pets are not permitted on the property.
