Lake Rooms:
Space To Settle
The One Room You Won’t Want To Leave
The Lake rooms are the largest on the property at 525 sq ft — the only two rooms at ShivAdya with an in-suite kitchenette. Named after two of Himachal's most beautiful lakes, Seolsar and Chandertal, each room has its own character. One sits on the ground floor with a flat ceiling, the other on the first floor with a high sloping roof that opens the room up in a way that makes 525 sq ft feel even larger. Both have huge balconies facing the Dhauladhar and the cottage across the estate. Step outside and the swimming pool, the Gupshup lounge, and the garden are right there. These are the rooms for guests who are not passing through — the ones who unpack properly, settle in, and stay a little longer than they planned.

MATERIALITY
HANDCRAFTED
Stone
One wall in the Lake room is stone — local material, laid from the inside, unfinished and unapologetic. It sits alongside the wood and the mud plaster without trying to compete. The room holds three materials and they all belong together.
A Ceiling That Expands the Room
The first floor Lake room has a high sloping roof — local fir wood running the full length of the ceiling, pulling the room upward and making 525 sq ft feel more generous than the number suggests. The kind of detail that changes how a room feels to be inside rather than how it looks in a photograph.
FLOOR
Floors Unlike Any Other
Every room at ShivAdya has a different floor. The Lake rooms take this further — each of the two rooms has a distinct pattern, different from each other and different from every other room on the property. Three woods, hand-laid, designed by the founder. The floor is the first thing you notice when you walk in and the last thing you think about when you leave.
Room to Spread Out
At 525 sq ft, the Lake rooms give you something most hotel rooms don't — the feeling that the room is not trying to compress your stay into a small footprint. There is space to sit somewhere other than the bed. Space to leave things out. Space to actually be in the room rather than just sleep in it.
SENSORY DETAIL
The Luxury of Actual Space
The Pool Outside Your Door
The swimming pool, the Gupshup lounge, and the garden are steps from the Lake rooms. On warm afternoons the sound of water carries through the window softly. Close enough to feel connected to the estate, far enough to stay quiet when you want it to.
Two Rooms, One Name
Ground floor flat ceiling or first floor sloping roof — same size, same kitchenette, same balcony views of the Dhauladhar. But the two Lake rooms feel entirely different from inside. One is grounded and close. The other opens upward and feels boundless. Worth knowing which one you want before you book.
